Langenbrunner has scored the most clutch goals for the Devils, in the regular season and the playoff, that I have ever seen. In addition few players are as good as he is at getting the puck off the wall or endboard and turning that into a scoring chance. During the 2002-03 season the Devils used him on their 3rd line, a so- called checking line that also had John Madden and Jay Pandolfo where they as a line contributed 113 points during the regular season. Some checking line!
He is an average skater with a very strong short game capable of generating offense from 15-20 feet away (either in front of the net or right of it) or scoring from the point on the powerplay. Jamie is a plumber who plays well with more skilled teammates and works with them rather than just finishes off their garbage. Good hands, hockey smarts, and fantastic pass either forehand or back hand, Langenbrunner's totals were always be more assist laden. Langenbrunner played an intense game and definitely bigger than his size. There is a quiet fire that burns within him. He is not content to just sit back and wait for the puck, but instead plow into the corner to get it himself. Defensively, he should be on a penalty killing unit no matter what team he is on. He may not be a threat to score, but he can and will spring a teammate with a pass so they can. I have been fortunate enough to meet Jamie on four occasions. Some have called him grumpy, but it was more a guy who is quiet than grumpy. He does not want the fanfare he gets and simply wants to go to work and go back home each night to be with family. I am the same way. On all four meetings with him he was nothing less than classy and cordial. CAREER NHL STATS (1995-2012)

1996-1997 DALLAS STARS BLACK ROAD SET
GAME USE & ABUSE: Black jerseys are always tough to see wear, but there is a lot of visible wear on this one starting with the left arm. Eight stick marks on the white stripe or the #5 show up along with four unrepaired holes and three board burns all in the elbow/forearm region. The right arm shows off seven stick marks (again on the white stripe), three unrepaired holes (one being a skate slice?), and two board burns also all in the elbow/forearm region. The back of the jersey as to be expected is fairly clean with just four marks and the heaviest being at the bottom of the #5.

1997-1998 DALLAS STARS WHITE HOME SET
GAME USE & ABUSE: 30+ marks grace the left arm of this jersey all up and down the sleeve in the white areas. The right arm has 20+ marks also running up and down the jersey with four unrepaired holes, two board burns, and a tiny red paint transfer. On the fornt one can see 12 marks across the front from the large black stripe up all the way to the arm pits. In addition, there is a huge speckling of marks that are small across the bottom hem totaling close to 30. The back of jersey has similar wear to the front albeit on a better quality scale, but lacking quantity. Across the back there are ten marks with very nice ones below the "L" in his name and ones right of the #5.

1997-1998 DALLAS STARS GREEN ALTERNATE SET
GAME USE & ABUSE: Being a jersey with about half the fabric being black makes this hard to see wear, but that does not mean you cannot see any. The left arm has one skate slice and eight burns which with the fabric turn white and may look like holes from a distance. On the right arm this trend with the board burns continues with five more and two repairs. The front features a few board burns on the lower right black section and this large four inch skate slice. The back of the jersey doesn't show much beyond a light mark on the center "N" and a stick mark across the lower portion of the #5.

NOTES: The hem tagging states this jersey was worn during the 1998-99 Stanley Cup Collection, yet the photo match has proven this is in fact worn in the later stages of 1998 during the playoff push. Could it have been worn during both? I have yet to find
conclusive evidence suggesting so. MeiGray also recognizes that this jersey was most likely from the 1997-98 season.

1999-2000 DALLAS STARS GREEN ROAD SET 3 PLAYOFF/FINALS
GAME USE & ABUSE: A smudged mark below the #1 on the left arm starts out the wear that also has two repairs and five board burns (which end up being a white color on this sublimated fabric when rubbed) all in the elbow region. The right arm shows off three repairs and six board burns all in that same region of the elbow the left. Two snags and five board burns grace the front with all the wear on the lower third of the jersey. The back of jersey has a few smudges on the #1 and one of the double "N's" in his name. In addition, there is some fraying to both the name and numbers on this jersey.
NOTE: The Stanley Cup patch was added to this jersey in preparation for Jamie to wear inthe finals, however; Langenbrunner was injured in the 3rd round and would not play one game with the patch on.

2003-2004 NEW JERSEY DEVILS WHITE ROAD SET 1
GAME USE & ABUSE: This jersey has moderate wear. On the left arm the sleeve features fourteen stick marks, a lone repair (on the forearm) and a blue paint transfer. The right arm features twelve stick marks, four repairs (including a nice cluster on the lower red stripe of the elbow), and two board burns. A long (6-8 inches long) stick runs parallel above the bottom stripes on the front of the jersey. Ten assorted marks accompany this large slash on the front with most being below the stripes on the hem. The back of this jersey exhibits two decent marks to the left of the #1 on the back. In addition a slight yellowing has presented itself under the nameplate due to the glue underneath.
MILESTONE: Langenbrunner would score his 300 NHL point in this jersey.

2009-2010 NEW JERSEY DEVILS WHITE ROAD SET 2
GAME USE & ABUSE: The left sleeve features a "Baker's Dozen" (thriteen) of marks scattered up and down the sleeve with two repairs (all of which are in the forearm region). Surprisingly, the right sleeve is VERY light on wear to one would be hard pressed to see much outside of some very faint board burns in the black of the stripe. On the front, fifteen marks run from under the arm pits to below the crest and finally cascade into one in the lower white hem. On the back... Eight faint marks of varying lengths crisscross the bottom hem and aside from light fraying there is nothing more to see.
MILESTONE: On January 2nd 2010, Langenbrunner would score his first NHL hat trick in a game at Minnesota in front of friend's and family in this jersey.
